Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

BrettBrett rating: 10 out of 10, Masterpiece

Growing up I didn't have any interest in Indiana Jones. I liked Han Solo and knew they were both played by Harrison Ford. I remember bits and pieces of watching the movies but not much else. Had even less interest when the movie with old Indiana Jones came out, felt like they were trying to get the last of the milk out of a dead cow that I felt like not a lot of people talked about anymore. Then this game came out....

Around the time the game came out, I had Xbox Gamepass which gave me access to the game. I was playing a lot of games on gamepass at the time and decided to check it out. When I first installed it on my pc, the game let me know me before even getting to the menu screen that my pc could not handle it, so I went to my Xbox. I had watched the trailers for the game and was interested.

The game was absolutely amazing and felt like I was playing one of the movies. It gave me a love for Indiana Jones and I actually talked my dad into watching the movies for family nights which I really enjoyed. The game follows Indiana Jones as he tracks down a stolen artifact from his museum, that has you traveling to many different locations and uncovering an evil plot by the Nazis.

The graphics are absolutely stunning. The story is engaging, funny, and holds you on the edge of your seat. There is so much to do in the areas of the game, whether it is following the main objective, searching for lost treasures based on clues or talking to NPC's, doing little puzzles or finding little collectibles. The characters are memorable and the voice acting is really good. The actor who plays Jones sounds exactly like Harrison Ford.

The only thing that was annoying to me was the combat, now it could be funny as you sneak up on a guard and hit him in the crotch before knocking him off the mountain but with the fist combat, it is difficult (which I do and don't like) because you actually have to be smart and time your hits well... unless you have a pistol and blast away.

The puzzles were also a bit difficult because of my small brain and I had to look them up but that made me love the game even more as it got my brain tingling. You can be sneaky, put on a disguise or just go guns blazing when it comes to the areas and maps. There are many parts that remain in my mind and scenes that make me laugh today. I hope to go back and play it again and possibly 100% it.

There is so much more I would like to talk about with this game, but I don't want to spoil it for you so you can experience it on your own. Just come to me if you want to see some funny clips of how I took out some enemies. I give this game a score of 10/10 and the verdict of Masterpiece. It made me an Indiana Jones fan.
