For everyone
Accessibility
Last updated October 9, 2026
The Video Gamers Podcast is for every gamer. We want everyone to be able to use this website, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, voice control, zoom, or other assistive technology.
What we aim for
We build the site to meet theWeb Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2(opens in a new tab)at level AA, and check every kind of page with automated accessibility tests and with a keyboard alone. The live site is scanned every month, and we test it by hand with a keyboard and a screen reader every three months.
What the site does
- Every page works with a keyboard alone, with a clear outline on whatever has focus.
- A “Skip to content” link comes first on every page.
- Pictures that carry meaning have text descriptions; decorative ones are skipped.
- Every form field has a label, and text and outlines have strong color contrast.
- Buttons and menu links are big enough to press easily on a phone.
- Nothing moves on its own for long: the trailer intro and shared GIFs have a pause button, and if your device asks for reduced motion, they stay still.
- Pages can be zoomed in, and they fit a phone screen without sideways scrolling.
What is not there yet
- Podcast episodes do not have written transcripts yet.
- Trailers are the game publishers’ YouTube videos. Their captions come from the publisher and YouTube.
- Pictures and GIFs that members share in comments have a general description, not one written for each picture.
