Hey friends — welcome to the very first official blog from Video Gamers Podcast - The Best Gaming Podcast. Whether you've been with us since the start or you’re just dropping in, thank you. The community that’s formed around this show has been incredible — rooted in gaming and nerd culture, but growing into something far deeper: connection, creativity, and meaningful conversation.

So… why are we doing this?

Why Start a Gaming Podcast Blog?

We know you're busy. The leisure category in podcasting is absolutely packed — thousands of shows are competing for your attention. So the fact that you've helped push us into the top 50 (and often the top 20) in our category? That’s huge.

But with so many voices out there, we wanted to give you more than just a show. We wanted a space where we could share the “why” behind what we do. What makes our show different? What are we actually trying to build here? And most importantly — how do we make sure we’re doing it in a way that stays true to you?

What Makes the Video Gamers Podcast Different?

We’re not IGN. We’re not Kotaku. We’re not flying across the world for day-one releases or getting early access to everything.

What we are is a small, passionate team of lifelong gamers. People who are genuinely curious, honest, and excited about the gaming world — just like you. That independence gives us freedom: the freedom to react quickly, follow the stories that matter, and speak candidly without layers of corporate oversight.

You won’t get clickbait or controversy for controversy’s sake. What you will get is real talk, real opinions, and real passion.

Our North Star: Vision + Core Values

When launching this podcast, we leaned on lessons from my previous business and from the success of shows like The Fantasy Footballers, which our host Josh helps produce. They’ve built something powerful — a small team with a big heart and a loyal audience. They’ve stayed authentic, even with major sponsorship offers rolling in.

That’s the blueprint we admire. That’s what we’re chasing.

To keep us grounded, we’ve defined a clear vision and three core values that guide everything we do:
